Traditional Scottish Breakfast at 'The Butterfly and the Pig' Glasgow
For our last meal in Glasgow, we went back to The Butterfly and the Pig. Yes, we could have gone somewhere new, tried something different, but truth is told, we loved it so much the first time we just couldn't resist going back and trying their brunch menu.
This time, we decided to take a seat on the first floor, in front of a large bay window. The wind was blowing in the fresh air and the light in the pale blue room downstairs.
We ordered a few cups of tea before deciding on brunch and pursued the cakes tables which sat anxiously beside us.
Dan and I both thought there would be no better send off to Scotland than with a full Scottish breakfast. And this was for sure the best one we had over the course of our stay. I've always been slightly wary about black pudding back after trying it all over Glasgow; it has become something I crave on a near daily basis. The combination of this platter so something so wonderful that you just can't get back home.
Although we desperately wanted a slice of cake, there was simply no room for it. We left the cafe with smiles on our faces and walked with our luggage down the cobblestone streets to the bus stop where we could hop on and head off the airport. It was a soundless morning, and it seemed like we had the entire city to ourselves. For one last time.
