My Digital Junk Journal 🌎💫

Our first full day in Ireland was one of those mag Our first full day in Ireland was one of those magic moments I'll never forget. When you're grieving it's amazing how some places feel like a warm hug which welcomes you home. Swaddled in green forest, contemplative sights and beaches with waves feel like a soothing nursery rhyme 🌊💙

I have dozens of huge physical scrapbooks lining my shelves, but recently I've also been spending my free time just playing around and having creative fun making these digital scrapbooks. While I love a physical junk journaling Sunday afternoons, it's sometimes nice not to have to dig out all my supplies and yet still be able to play around with creative ways to document my travels ❤️ and felt like sharing 🥰

All the action around the Coronation 👑 this wee All the action around the Coronation 👑 this weekend has me missing London. There was nothing like spending such a long stay in one city. Having the time, space and energy to allow myself just to get lost and explore without a thought, plan or itinerary 💭

Jacarandas really are the perfect Eastery flower 💜The Jacaranda trees you see all over are a tale of my two favourite cities, Tokyo and CDMX. 🇯🇵❤️🇲🇽 The trees were brought to the city by Tatsugoro Matsumoto, an imperial gardener from Tokyo. 🪴He came to Mexico City to oversee the design of the forest and gardens at the historic Chapultepec Castle. 🌳🏰🌳
After gaining much fame and popularity, Mexican President Álvaro Obregón asked him to plant blossoming trees in the main avenues of Mexico City. Cherry Blossoms 🌸 were his first choice but the high altitude and weather in Mexico City didn't suit the sensitive blossom. So he chose the beautiful Jacaranda tree, originally from Brazil. The trees absolutely transform the city during Springtime. If you really want to see how strong the colour is try looking on google maps and you can actually see the brilliant purple blossoms even from the sky. ☁️Matsumoto never returned to Japan as he had fallen in love with Mexico City. ❤️❤️ And who came blame him? #jacarandaseason #CDMX #mexicocity #MexicoCityJacarandas
Every time I go to Mexico City I come with a check Every time I go to Mexico City I come with a checklist of things I still have yet to see and do. And no matter how many items I tick off the list, I still manage to come home with a new list twice as long. 📓I always get to chatting with locals who tell me about more and more incredible places I just have to see. On this trip, I finally made it out to see the UNAM campus to see the mesmerizing central library designed by the illustrious architect and painter Juan O'Gorman. 📚The library's mural is designed like a codex, filled with symbolic imagery to decipher. I could have sat there for hours just looking at it. 🧿
We arrived on graduation day for some of the students. The ceremony had just finished but many graduates were still milling around with their gowns on, taking pictures, smiles brimming across their faces. It was such a joyful visit and one of the most incredible campuses' I've ever seen. Made even more beautiful by the blooming jacaranda trees. 💜Definitely worth the drive!

I just returned from my first trip to the east coa I just returned from my first trip to the east coast of Canada and I was completely entranced by this part of the country. I had been to PEI as a small child but it’s safe to say I remember little from that vacation. I will never forget the smell of the ocean when I woke up in the morning and walked along the shore. There was nothing more refreshing. Who needs coffee when you have the ocean 🌊

We stumbled upon this incredible viewpoint just a few minutes down the road from our hotel *just* as the sun was setting against an almost painterly pink and gold sunset. Truly a moment to treasure 💕

I’ve heard of “Forest Bathing” but I wonder I’ve heard of “Forest Bathing” but I wonder if “Mountain Bathing” is the next big thing?
Shinrin-yoku, or Forest Bathing, is a Japanese practice which means “bathing in the atmosphere of the forest.” People do this to escape the city to reconnect with the natural environment. It’s not hiking, or jogging or any form of exercise, it’s just meant to be a peaceful moment of reflection. You open yourself and your senses up to the world around you.
Too often when I usually travel I rarely leave the city. But this latest trip sent me into the wilderness and I loved every second of it. More than I would have imagined. Maybe it was just what I needed. Mountain Bathing 🏔🛁🏔

Counting down the days until I return to the mount Counting down the days until I return to the mountains 🏔 Booked my first plane trip in a year and half 😱 Heading to Calgary in a few weeks and I’ve never been so excited 🥰🥰🥰Trying to plan for a different kind of trip, lots of outdoor activities, flexibility and that “it is what it is” attitude. Truly just grateful to be visiting friends and family after too long apart ❤️

I can’t even believe they’ve been keeping records for 1,200 years 😱 Seeing the cherry blossoms for myself in Japan was one of those bucket list moments for me. Something I’ll never forgot and happily close my eyes to remember whenever I get a little down and need a momentary pick me up 🌸🌸🌸
